First Days of Spring3/30/2016 Green hills can be a rare sight in Southern California. It’s only around this beautiful spring time that our rolling hills are a vibrant green and our flowers are blooming like crazy. I simply love it. Spring is the birth of a new season that brings so much beauty to our lives and with it a chance for new growth. When I think of spring, I think of soft blues and subtle flower prints. Nothing too bold, but still distinctly spring. I personally don’t wear anything that is too vibrant, so a soft blue is the perfect fresh color for spring that I incorporate in my everyday looks. This dress is my go to spring dress. I’ve had it for a few seasons now, but I still seem to gravitate back to it, especially in these months when the air is still a little crisp but the sun is shining strongly. To add more depth and flare to this dress I paired it with my favorite full lengthed vest cardigan. This cardigan is a perfect addition to any dress that is a little too short. Throw it on and no one even knows that you were stressing about your dress flying up for the world to see. Incorporating grey made it easy to top it off with one of my many Brixton hats to tie it all together. Here are a few things that I’ve been pushing myself to do in this new season. Take the long way home. Get out and go walk. Explore. Bring my camera everywhere and push my creativity. Read more. Talk to strangers. Be more vulnerable. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Be more generous. Stand boldly in my faith. Listen to God when he says to go. Let go. Be confident, yet humble. Lend a helping hand. Get the look:

Warby Parker3/5/2016 When I first heard of Warby Parker and their business plan I thought it was too good to be true. I've had to wear glasses for as long as I can remember and unfortunately it's not something I've been very happy about. So when the opportunity came for me to wear contacts in 8th grade I was over joyed. It wasn't until recently that I wanted to have a pair of stylish glasses that I could wear on days that I didn't feel like wearing my contacts. Don't get me wrong, I love my contacts so I've been renewing them every year especially since purchasing glasses and contacts can get pretty pricey, sometimes up to $500. That's what I love about Warby Parker! They're only $95 for the frame and lens, which is ridiculously cheap. On top of that, they also do a 5 day trial. You pick out 5 frames off their website that you like and they ship the frames to you (for free!). Once you receive the frames you have 5 days to try them on and get opinions from friends and family. To be honest, I did 3 trials before I found a pair that a lot of people agreed looked best on the shape of my face. And that's also the beauty of it, you can do as many trials as you'd like until you're completely confident about the frame that you end up purchasing! The frame and lens that they send you in the end is 10x better than the trial frames. The trial frames are meant to give you a feel for what the shape looks like on your face. I ended up choosing the Baker frames in the striped sassafras shell and I couldn't be happier. With all of their options available and a free trial, I'm positive that everyone could find a frame that they like. What's also great about Warby Parker is that with every pair of glasses bought, another pair is distributed to someone in need around the world. I'm already looking into buying another pair, that's how cute and cheap they are! Thanks for reading! I hope you check out Warby Parker if you're in need of some new glasses! They won't disappoint.
