Denim Lace-up Tunic & Life Update6/16/2016 My last blog post was about spring and here we are on summer break. If that doesn't explain how busy life has been lately, then I don't know what would. Spring semester has ended and after pulling countless all nighters, staying at school working on projects into the wee hours of the morning and slaving over project after project, I can proudly say that I finished another semester with straight A's. eeeeeep! Seeing those grades roll in after all that hard work is an indescribable feeling. God has been so good, as always. I know I wouldn't be here today without putting all my trust into His plan for my life. Time after time He has remained faithful to the promise that His plan for me is better than any plan my heart has dreamed up. This past semester I got connected with my church in Long Beach and joined a community group. I never knew the impact that it would have on my life. Taking that leap of faith and joining a community group has been the most incredible thing for me. I look forward to seeing my new friends weekly and I always leave community group smiling ear to ear and thanking God for bringing these amazing beautiful souls into my life. There's nothing like having a group of friends that you can share your faith with and be encouraged to pursue God daily. I've grown so much this last semester, it's crazy to look back to who I was a few months ago and see who I am now. I've never been happier and all the glory goes to God. Spring semester is over, but school continues on for me. I'm taking two summer sessions that are 12 weeks long, which basically is my entire summer. The first class that I'm taking is DESN 255, it is a computer class where we're learning Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign. I'm more than half way through my first summer class and I'm having a blast learning these new programs. I must say that it's pretty cool pursuing a degree that you're passionate about, because I love going to school and learning anything and everything that will make me better at what I do. That's why I signed up for this first summer class. I enjoy being busy and productive in every season of life, even if it's summer break. The second summer class was a requirement to take in order to stay on track to submit my portfolio next spring to get into the program. DESN 232 will be more of a challenge and take up more time than the class that I'm in right now, but I'm still looking forward to it. I'm just going to say that it's a rapid sketching class to explain it quickly and easily. I'm up for the challenge. I'm still working and going to school this summer, but I've also been busy with weddings, vow renewals, bridal showers, and wedding rehearsals. I actually got to take pictures at a lot of these events, so I might make a post featuring my favorite shots. Well that's enough about my life, I hope your summer is going great with whatever you're up to. Well now that you're all caught up on my life, lets talk about this look. As always I was browsing FreePeople.com, specifically the sale section to be honest because I'm a broke college student, when I came across this rad denim lace up tunic. I about died. I'm all about light denim right now and the fact that it was also a lace up top just sealed the deal. I knew I had to buy it and style an outfit for you guys. Since it is a tunic, I've seen some people wear it as a dress, but sadly I'm just too tall for that to work. I still wanted the feminine look a dress gives, so I layered the tunic with a brown Brandy Melville skirt that balanced the look quite nicely. It gave me the length I needed and that feminine look I desired. With the days becoming warmer, I've pulled out one of my favorite pairs of lace up sandals. These go perfectly with my skirt and they compliment my lace up top. To really focus in on the lace-up details of this top, I added this choker set. The bottom necklace has a drop down detail that goes quite low below my top. I love how simple and feminine it looks. Of course the last thing that my outfit needed was my favorite structured hat.
